Meghan Frey graduated as one of the most decorated Mercyhurst student-athletes, earning two All-American awards and being named to an All-Conference and All-Region team all four years in the Laker net. Additionally, Frey was twice named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Year. Frey is the fifth Women’s Soccer player to be inducted into the Mercyhurst Hall of Fame, and the first since Teresa Roach entered in 2006.

The Endwell, N.Y. product holds every major goalkeeping record in Mercyhurst women’s soccer history, helping the Lakers to three consecutive NCAA tournament appearances from 1999 through 2001 after a three-year postseason absence. She backstopped the team’s first win in national tournament play, a 1-0 blanking over No. 2 Ashland on November 1, 1999 in the NCAA First Round. In 2000, she posted her second postseason shutout in a 0-0 tie against Ashland in the first round where the Lakers advanced to the second on penalty kicks.

A two-time team captain, Frey posted a 58-15-5 record while at Mercyhurst, including 35 shutouts and several shared shutouts. She notched six-straight shutouts in October 2001. Her lifetime 0.83 goals-against average is the best in program history and second best all-time in the GLIAC, as she boasted a 0.62 GAA in 1998 and 2001. She aided the Lakers to two shared GLIAC titles during her sophomore and senior seasons.

She made a program-record 120 saves and registered a 0.76 GAA during the 2000 campaign when she was named NSCAA First Team All-American. She then posted a 15-3-1 record with a 0.62 record in 2001, earning Third Team All-American status.

The Lakers continued their success during her career, earning top-20 national rankings each year she competed, finishing ninth in 1999 and eighth in 2000.
