Hall of Fame
Kupniewski was a member of the Men's Golf team from 1973-77. He led the team with a 77.6 scoring average in his freshman season of 1973. After taking the following year off, Kupniewski again led the Lakers in scoring average in 1975 with a 75.9 average. He was a medalist on two occasions in 1975 and led the team in scoring seven times. In 1976, he finished second on the team with a 77.0 scoring average and was a medalist three times.
Kupniewski was inducted into the Erie District Golf Association Hall of Fame in 2006.
He becomes the third men's golfer inducted into the Mercyhurst Athletic Hall of Fame. Dario Cipriani was inducted in 2001 while Dave Hewett was enshrined in 2003.
