Mercyhurst University Athletics seeks to be a source of pride for Mercyhurst University and the greater community. We believe in competition at the highest level of excellence without sacrificing our integrity.
The purpose of this site is to provide rules education to all those who have an interest in Mercyhurst University Athletics. Please take a few moments to read the information found below.Your compliance efforts are expected because violations could affect the eligibility of either a current or prospective student-athlete and the institution in general.
Legislation governing the conduct of intercollegiate athletics programs of NCAA member institutions shall apply to basic athletics issues such as admissions, financial aid, eligibility and recruiting. Member institutions shall be obligated to apply and enforce this legislation, and the enforcement procedures of the Association shall be applied to an institution when it fails to fulfill this obligation.
The competitive athletics programs of NCAA member institutions are designed to be a vital part of the educational system.A basic purpose of the NCAA is to maintain intercollegiate athletics as an integral part of the educational program and the athlete as an integral part of the student body and, by so doing, retain a clear line of demarcation between intercollegiate athletics and professional sports.
