Hall of Fame
John Langer was a member of the Mercyhurst football team from 1991 until 1994. A native of Fairview, Pa., and graduate of Fairview High School, he made an impact as a defensive lineman during his time at Mercyhurst.
Langer finished his collegiate career tied for eighth all-time in career sacks. He tied for the fourth-highest mark for sacks in one season during his sophomore year. Langer ranks high in several other categories: tied for 13th in solo tackles, 20th in total tackles, and tied for 23rd in tackles-for-loss. He led the Lakers in total tackles during his junior season.
Langer was recognized on the Eastern College Athletic Conference All-Conference Team as a senior. During his junior year, he received special recognition from the National Strength and Conditioning Association for achievements both in the weight room and on the gridiron.
