Curtis holds a special place in Laker history as part of the first Laker football team in 1981, playing in 1982 as well. David was one of the top defensive players for the Lakers in the early going of the team's history as he led the team in tackles both years. In 16 games over the course of his career, Curtis recorded 149 tackles with 123 coming assisted with 26 unassisted. He added three interceptions to his line with a career-long of 15 yards.
