Slippery Rock, Pa.—The NCWBA has announced their Atlantic All-Region Teams, Mercyhurst first basemen Josh Surowiec has been named the first team first basemen. It is his second All-Region First Team selection so far this season after being named to the D2CCA First Team yesterday.

Surowiec had a career year in his final season with the Lakers. He broke the program record with 17 homers this season while taking home the PSAC West Athlete of the Year honor. He was also the first team first basemen for the PSAC West as he won the PSAC Regular Season Batting Title. He still leads the PSAC in in slugging percentage and on base percentage. He drove in 56 runs which led the team and drew 39 walks to lead the team, 39 is also second in the PSAC. Despite hitting in the three hole most of the season, the Williamsville, N.Y. native scored a team high 52 runs. In the field he started at first base all 49 games and had a .989 fielding percentage while tallying 365 putouts and adding 21 assists.

With the first team honor, he is now eligible to be a NCWBA All-American which will be announced in the coming weeks.
