ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst women's water polo team heads to California for a trio of games this weekend. On Sunday, March 9, the Lakers play Sonoma State at 5:30 p.m. Eastern (2:30 p.m. Pacific) and Cal State East Bay at 8:30 p.m. Eastern (5:30 p.m. Pacific). Both games will be played at East Bay. On Tuesday, March 11, Mercyhurst will compete at Cal State Monterey Bay. The contest is set for a 6 p.m. Eastern (3 p.m. Pacific) start.

Curtis Robinette's squad is 6-1 after winning, 11-2, at Penn State Behrend on Tuesday.
Cailin Jope scored three goals, as eight different Lakers scored. Jope leads the team with 22 goals this season.
Jena Clinch has scored 11 goals and dished out a team-high 15 assists.

Sonoma State has a 2-11 record in 2014. Entering this weekend, the Seawolves have lost three of their last four outings. Alexa May, Jessica Stansfield, and Noelle Herrera have each scored 15 goals this year.

Cal State East Bay is 5-9 this season. It split four matches at the Cal Lutheran Invitational last weekend. Sara Hudyn paces the Pioneers with 27 goals. Allison Zell has recorded 13 assists.

Cal State Monterey Bay sports a 1-8 mark in 2014. After dropping its first eight contests, the Otters won, 11-10, at East Bay on February 15. Bree Hogervorst led the way with three goals in the victory. Season statistics are not available for the Otters.
