ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst men's water polo team beat Penn State Behrend, 17-5, Sunday afternoon.
Matt Cote made 11 saves in net as the Lakers won their fifth straight game of the season. Coach
Curtis Robinette's squad has defeated the Lions 18 straight times.
Mercyhurst led, 5-0, after a quarter. It took a 10-1 advantage into halftime and then scored eight second-half goals to steamroll the Lions.
Christian Dudley and
Jack Howe each posted a goal and two assists.
Michael Lawson had two goals and a helper, while
Brett Luehmann scored twice.
Tye Schreiber scored two goals and
Garret Schoeman recorded two assists. Cote tallied 11 saves in goal.
The Lakers are now 6-1 and will travel to Colorado for four matches next weekend.
