ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's soccer team squeaked by Urbana University in overtime, 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Mercyhurst Soccer Field. Sophomore
Janine Wong scored the game-winning goal at the 95:45 mark of the game. The win moved the Lakers to 3-1-0 on the season.
The Lakers dominated the entire match. As a team, they had twenty-two shots, ten of which were on goal forcing Blue Knights senior goalkeeper Meghan Taucher to make nine saves. Wong, a native of Parsippany, N.J., led the team with six shots, with two on goal. Senior

Fawn Mulholland both had five shots a piece, with both recording two shots on goal.
With 4:55 minutes left in overtime, junior
Gabrielle Catrabone set up Wong with a pass in front of the penalty box. Wong carried the ball until she had an open shot, lifting it over the goalie into the top right corner. It was Wong's first goal of the season and first of her collegiate career.
Brooke Morrison started her first game of the season in goal and playedthe entire match. She is now 1-0-0 after posting three saves. Taucher and the Blue Knights fell to 0-4-0 on the season.
Mercyhurst is on the road next weekend at East Stroudsburg University on Friday September 14, and Bloomsburg University on Saturday, September 15. Start times are 3:30 and 7:30 respectively.
