ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst University women's soccer team tied 1-1 in a double overtime battle against Millersville Saturday. Senior
Sara Hawksworth scored on a penalty shot in the second half to tie the match.
Millersville would come out strong in the first half, scoring twenty minutes into the match. Marauders' freshman Felicia Cramer scored an unassisted goal at 19:29 for a 1-0 lead. Millersville would keep the lead heading into the half, outshooting the Lakers nine to five.
The Lakers would get an opportunity when the Marauders defense fouled in the penalty box at the 56:42 mark in the second.
Sara Hawksworth took the penalty kick for the Lakers, beating freshman goaltender Olivia Webber in the top right hand corner of the goal.
Regulation time would end, with Millersville out shooting Mercyhurst 20-to-17. The match would continue into double overtime without anyone scoring. Millersville finished with a seven to four advantage in corners.

Brooke Morrison entered the match in the second, playing in 65:00, making four saves and moving to a record of 1-0-1. Freshman
Ellie McDougall allowed one goal for the Lakers playing in 45:00 and saving three. Webber (3-4-2) made eleven saves in ne for Millersvillet, playing in all 110:00.
The Lakers move to 4-5-1 overall, and 1-5-1 in the conference. The Marauders are now 3-4-2 and 1-4-2 in conference play.
The Lakers play their next match Wednesday, October 3 at 4 p.m. against IUP at the Mercyhurst Soccer Field.
