Box Score ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst Lakers women's soccer team suffered a 3-1 loss to #4 West Chester on Friday.  West Chester junior Marie D'Angelo notched all three goals..
 
D'Angelo scored her first goal at the 11:54 mark.  Sophomore Ashley Saylor set up D'Angelo with a cross.  Mercyhurst tied the match when West Chester took a penalty in the box.  Senior Sara Hawksworth took full advantage of the penalty kick, beating the Golden Rams goaltender Shannon Fedyk with a shot in the right hand corner.
 
The Golden Rams scored the go-ahead goal two minutes into the second half.  D'Angelo got a crossing pass through the top of the goalie box from junior Lexi Lentz.  D'Angelo completed her hat trick at the 56:01 mark with help from senior Melissa McKeary.
 
Mercyhurst freshman goalie Ellie McDougall (3-5-0) made four saves and allowed three goals. 
 
The Lakers, now 4-5-0, continue their home series against Millersville University on Saturday, September 29.  The match is set for 3:30 pm.
