Central Connecticut Blue Devils
Central Connecticut comes into Sunday's matchup at 4-7 overall and 2-1 in NEC play. It is coming off a 3-1 loss at LIU on Oct. 8, its first conference setback. LIU built a 3-0 lead before the Blue Devils got on the board in the 86th minute. CCSU opened league play with a 2-0 win at Howard on Sept. 27, then beat Stonehill 1-0 at home on Oct. 1 behind an early goal from Antony Recinos, giving the Blue Devils back-to-back conference shutouts. Santiago Marin Gutierrez has been a steady threat, leading the team with four shots against Stonehill and nearly tying the match at LIU with a free kick that the keeper tipped away. The teams share two common opponents. Mercyhurst drew Howard 1-1 while CCSU beat the Bison 2-0, and both clubs fell to LIU, Mercyhurst 2-0 at home on Oct. 1 and CCSU 3-1 on the road.
