Detroit, Mich. – The Mercyhurst Men's Lacrosse team came back from multiple deficits and tied the game with two minutes to go, but a late goal by Detroit Mercy proved to be the difference as the Lakers fell in a heartbreaker, 14–13.
How It Happened
The game was a back-and-forth battle from the opening whistle. After falling behind early, Mercyhurst responded with a balanced offensive effort and entered halftime with a 7–5 lead, powered by second-quarter goals from Ethan Landymore, Chase Petschke, Jeremi Phoenix-Lefebvre, and Antonio Rossetti.
Detroit Mercy regained momentum in the third, outscoring Mercyhurst 4–1 to retake a 9–8 advantage entering the final frame.
The fourth quarter delivered non-stop action, with both teams combining for 10 goals. The Lakers fought back from a three-goal deficit with man-up tallies by Robert Madden and Rossetti, both assisted by Colin Tardif, to tie the game at 13–13 with just over two minutes remaining.
But with 47 seconds left on the clock, Detroit Mercy found the back of the net and sealed the win for the Titans.
