Women's Water Polo Falls to McKendree

Erie, Pa. – Women's Water Polo comes short against McKendree in their last game of the WWPA Conference Weekend. The Lakers fall to the Bearcats by a score of 16-5.

How It Happened

Mercyhurst returned to the Hallman Aquatic Center bright and early for one more match in front of their own crowd. After going undefeated on the first day of the tournament, the Lakers started the game with McKendree slow, as they allowed their opponents to gain a significant lead in the first quarter, 8-0. The squad did their best to come back from that deficit, but despite their efforts the Bearcats won the first half by a score of 11-1.

McKendree continued their scoring run in the second half, as they pushed the ball in transition and dominated offensively. Despite three goals from Alexa Corrao in the fourth quarter, the Bearcats eventually won the game by a score of 16-5.

Highlights
Corrao led the charge with three goals, as Sakura Gavin and Sara Marin added one goal each.

What's Next
The Lakers travel to Loretto, Pa. on Saturday, April 8th to take on Saint Francis with a race-off scheduled for 3 p.m.
