Lakers Drop Match Against Saint Francis

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Mercyhurst fell to Saint Francis with a final score of 5-13 at Canham Natatorium on Saturday. The Lakers managed to score once in each quarter, including a successful penalty shot, but it was not enough to overcome St. Francis' offensive effort.

St. Francis (PA) took control early in the first quarter, establishing a 2-0 lead. The Lakers responded with a goal from Bailey Dunn, but Saint Francis extended its advantage to 4-1 by the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, Mercyhurst's Krista Domaracki scored twice, narrowing the gap to 5-3. However, Saint Francis pulled away again in the third quarter, with two consecutive goals to bring the score to 9-4. Despite the Lakers' Marley Hanlon finding the net twice, Saint Francis secured a decisive 13-5 victory, outshooting Mercyhurst 29-22.

Marley Hanlon contributed significantly by scoring two goals on three attempts. Krista Domaracki matched Hanlon with two goals and also excelled defensively, collecting four steals. Bailey Dunn added to the offense with one goal and one assist, while winning two sprints. In goal, Gianna Boscacci made six saves to anchor the defense.

Looking ahead, the Lakers will face Bucknell on Sunday, April 12. The match is set for 9 a.m. in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
