Erie, Pa – Mercyhurst Women's Water Polo finishes the second day of the Curtis Robinette Memorial with one win and one loss. The Lakers defeated Wittenberg by a score of 12-4, but fell to St. Francis-Brooklyn, 15-9, to round out their run in the tournament.
First Game
The Lakers returned to the Hallman Aquatic Center for another busy day of competition. They started the day well, as they jumped out to an early lead, thanks to a good team-oriented play. Hanna Good led the charge in the first half with three goals, and the team went into the break leading by four goals, 6-2.
Mercyhurst didn't slow down in the second half as Sara Marin netted two goals in the third and Hannah Engquist added two more in the fourth. The Lakers eventually won the first game 12-4 and registered their second win of the season.
Second Game
In their last game of the tournament, the Mercyhurst squad allowed their opponents to build a significant lead early in the first, 5-0. The Lakers tried to answer back in the second quarter, as Sakura Gavin and Hanna Good netted one goal each.
St. Francis-Brooklyn kept applying pressure in the second, and despite four goals from Alexa Corrao, the Lakers fell to the Terriers, 15-9.

The Lakers travel to Springfield, Oh. on Saturday, March 4th, to participate in the Wittenberg Invite and play a rematch with Wittenberg and take on Washington & Jefferson also.
