Erie, Pa – The Mercyhurst University Women's Tennis team claimed victory over the visiting West Chester Golden Rams on Friday at the Erie Racquet Club by a 7-0 margin.

The Lakers began the match by winning two of the three doubles matches that were played. The tandem of Kayla Dean and Roisin Murphy won by a comfortable 6-2 score and Naomi Jahr/Nadja Ostojic swept their opponents 6-0.

In singles, the Lakers swept all six matches in straight sets. Sara Bertolez Puente was perfect in her match winning 6-0,6-0. Dean completed a two set sweep to go on to win her match 6-3,6-2 while Murphy won her match 6-1,6-2. 

Jahr swept her singles match 6-4,6-2 and Ostojic was victorious by a 6-1,6-3 score. Valentine Budin closed out the Lakers singles match with a 6-2,6-1 score.

The Lakers will close out their three game home stand tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. against Millersville.
