CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mercyhurst women's tennis team traveled to Cleveland, Ohio to take on the Vikings on Thursday. After dropping their last matchup to Colgate, the Lakers were looking to rebound on the road before another string of matchups throughout the month of March.

In singles competition,
Daria Rogova battled hard on the first court, but ultimately fell 6-4 and 6-3. On the second court,
Simone Mercier kept her opening set close before falling 6-4 and was unable to recover, falling 6-0 at the conclusion of the second set.
Kiersten Brown fell in her first set 6-1 before her second set was retired at 1-0.
Celeste Davis was unable to pick up the win for the Lakers, falling 6-1 and 6-0 in her sets.
Ellyana Jacobs and
Mollie Gray both eventually fell in their matches as well.

In doubles competition, the team of Rogova and Davis fell 4-3 in their unfinished match while Brown and Mercier battled in their match before falling 6-3. The final Laker team of Jacobs and Gray also fell 6-0.

The Lakers ultimately fell 7-0 to the Vikings.

The Blue and Green will next take on the Long Island Sharks at Westwood Racquet Club Friday, March 20. Start time set for 11:00 AM.
