ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's tennis team hosted the Saint Francis Red Flash on Friday for an NEC matchup. After earning a hard-fought victory in Olean on Tuesday, the Lakers were looking to continue their strong performances and earn their second NEC victory of the season.

In singles competition,
Daria Rogova competed on the first court where she found herself in a tight battle, but ultimately fell 6-3 and 6-4 in her sets.
Simone Mercier won her opening set on the second court before falling 6-4 to the Red Flash. Mercier managed to bounce back and claim a 6-4 victory for the Lakers in her final set.
Kiersten Brown was unable to claim a second Laker victory on her court, falling 6-1 in both sets.
Ellyana Jacobs battled hard in her match, earning the 6-3 win in the opening set before falling in a tight 7-5 battle in the second set. In her final set, Jacobs was unable to come out on top, falling 6-2.
Celeste Davis was unable to come away with a win on the fifth court, where she fell 6-2 and 6-1.
Mollie Gray also fell in her match 6-0 and 6-1.

In doubles competition, the team of Mercier and Brown fell in a competitive 7-5 loss on the first court while Jacobs and Rogova were able to claim victory for the Blue and Green on the second court 6-3. The final Laker duo of Gray and Davis fell 6-0 in their match.

The Lakers ultimately fell to the Red Flash 6-1 at Westwood Racquet Club.

The Hurst will next travel to Youngstown, Ohio to take on Chicago State in their final NEC matchup of the season Friday, April 3.
