Box Score OLEAN, N.Y. – The Mercyhurst women's tennis team traveled to Olean, New York on Tuesday to take on the Bonnies. After a string of tough defeats, the Lakers were looking to rebound and put themselves back in the win column.
 
In singles competition, Daria Rogova competed on the first court and found herself at an early 6-1 deficit through the opening set. She was able to battle back with a 6-1 victory in her second set before completing the comeback with a 6-2 victory in the final set. On the second court, Simone Mercier fell in her first set 6-3 before dropping the final set to the Bonnies 6-1. Kiersten Brown got the win on her court due to an injury withdrawal. Ellyana Jacobs led the way in her first set, winning 6-2 before claiming victory in the match after a 6-4 final set. Celeste Davis battled on the fifth court and came away with the Laker win after claiming both sets 6-2 and 6-4. Mollie Gray rounded out the Laker competition, falling 6-0 and 6-2 in her match.
 
In doubles competition, the team of Mercier and Brown competed on the first court and claimed victory for the Blue and Green after scoring 7-6 with a 7-5 tiebreaker. Jacobs and Rogova dominated on the second court, winning 6-0. The final Laker duo of Gray and Davis fell in their match 6-1.
 
The Lakers came away with a 5-2 victory over the Bonnies.
 
The Hurst will next host the Red Flash of Saint Francis on Friday, March 27 at Westwood Racquet Club. Start time set for 6:00 PM.
