Women' Water Polo Drop 14-8 Contest to SFBK

Philadelphia, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's water polo team concluded action at the La Salle Tournament on Sunday with a loss to St. Francis College of Brooklyn by an 8-14 margin of defeat to the Terriers of SFBK.

How it Happened 

The Terriers jumped out to an early lead in the opening quarter after scoring the contest's first three tallies. The Lakers responded by scoring three of the next four goals in the game. Brean Jordan scored the first for the Lakers before Grace Brzyski and Hanna Good added goals to cut the Mercyhurst deficit to one. Saint Francis Brooklyn then proceeded to close out the half on a 6-0 scoring run to take 10-3 lead into the halftime break.

In the third quarter, both teams defenses picked up their pressure as only three goals were scored in the period, with Good and Byzyski adding the the Laker total to put that score at 11-5 SFBK entering the games final quarter of action.

In the fourth, the Lakers and Terriers combined for three goals a piece to put the game at its final 14-8 score. Good added her third and fourth strikes on the game and Allie Dombkowski contributed the teams final score of the game.

The Lakers will travel on the road again next weekend to Lebanon, Illonios for a weekend of WWPA Conference action.
