Men's Water Polo Wins Two Games on Saturday

Erie, Pa – Mercyhurst Men's Water Polo finished first day of Penn State Behrend Tournament with two wins. They defeated University of Buffalo Club by a score of 23-4 and followed that with a decisive victory over Cornell University Club, 30-13.

How It Happened
The Lakers started their busy weekend with a morning game at the Junker Center. They dominated UB Club team on both sides of the pool as they scored 14 goals in the first half alone, and only allowed one. The Lakers didn't slow down in the second, as they finished the game strong, eventually winning by a score of 23-4. Teagan Thomas led the charge for the green and white, with eight goals of his own. Owen Hardner, Reed Bearden and Nate Cheney recorded three goals each.

Mercyhurst followed that outstanding performance with another good game against Cornell University Club. They outperformed their opponents from the first race-off, winning the first half by a score of 15-4. Cornell University Club tried to come back in the second, but the Lakers gave them no chance to do so, as they won the game by a score of 30-13. Hardner led the team in goals with eights, followed by Bearden with six and Joel Reinsma with four.
