Box Score 2 Lewisburg, Pa.—The Mercyhurst Women's Water Polo team began their season with a trip to the Bucknell Invitational in Lewisburg, but came away with a pair of losses to Wagner and La Salle.
Against Wagner
The Seahawks controlled the game the entire way, finishing ahead 8-1 after the first frame and 16-3 at the half. After Wagner furthered their lead with a 7-2 third, the game was out of reach and Wagner added just two more to Mercyhurst's one in the final quarter to bring the final to 25-6.
Hanna Good scored the Lakers' first goal of the game and added another in the third. Sakura Gavin also scored a pair of goals in the effort. Allie Dombkowski and Ava Gebhardt accounted for the other two goals.
Against La Salle
The Explorers held Mercyhurst off the scoreboard in the first half as they took a 12-0 lead. Good again scored the Lakers' first goal as she put Mercyhurst on the board in the third.
Rachel Vlietstra added a second goal for the Lakers, but La Salle led 16-2 after three. In the fourth, La Salle tallied six more goals while Alexa Anderberg provided the final Mercyhurst goal as the Lakers fell 22-3.

Mercyhurst will head to Springfield, Ohio, for the Wittenberg University Invite Feb. 5, where they will play Mount St. Mary's and the hosts in the afternoon.
