Mercyhurst Releases Fan Policy for G-MAC Tournament Games This Week

ERIE, Pa. - Mercyhurst University has announced their fan policy for the upcoming Great Midwest Athletic Conference playoff games to take place at Saxon Stadium this week.  The Lakers will host Lake Erie College on Wednesday afternoon at 1pm in the semifinals.  With a win the Green and Blue will welcome either Seton Hill or Walsh for the championship on Saturday where the same policy would apply. 

For the first time since fans have been allowed back at Mercyhurst men's lacrosse games, visiting spectators will be permitted into Saxon Stadium for Wednesday's contest. 

Below is the fan policy: 
  • The game will be held at Saxon Stadium at the site of Mercyhurst University.  The address is 501 E. 38th St. in Erie, PA 16546.
  • Masks must be worn at all times both indoors and outdoors while on campus and at an off-campus MU athletic home competition site.  Fans must also practice social distancing.
  • Visiting teams are permitted 3 tickets per player/staff that is on their roster.  Each visiting team will be required to submit a ticket list to Mercyhurst officials a day before the game.  
  • Prior to arriving on campus, fans attending the game must fill out the Mercyhurst Guest Screening form and put athletics@mercyhurst.edu as the email address of the person you are visiting.  Fans must show the completed form to the Mercyhurst Staff at the ticket table.
  • Ticket list must be submitted in alphabetical order by last name (ex. Smith, John).
  • No tickets will be sold for this game.
  • Fans will be given a bracelet upon entry that they must show Mercyhurst staff when re-entering the stadium.
  • All visitors are subject to bag checks by Mercyhurst officials.  
  • No alcohol is permitted inside Saxon Stadium. 
  • No tailgating is allowed on the Mercyhurst campus.  
  • There will be no contact with student-athletes or mingling between student-athletes and team personnel before or after events.
  • Gates will open 60 minutes prior to the official game start time (1pm).  Fans must leave immediately after the completion of the game.  
  • Spectators will not be permitted into events without being on the game spectator list.
  • Spectators sitting in bleachers will sit in designated areas that are marked for social distancing.
  • Spectators sitting in personal chairs must follow the family groups of four or less and social distance from other groups. 
  • Families will be required to stay in their pods from other groups.
  • Concessions will not be available.
  • Spectators will be required to vacate the facility within 15 minutes of the conclusion of the game.
  • Any spectator refusing to comply with these policies will be immediately removed from the facility or denied entry.  This policy will be strictly enforced.
Additional Safety Measures
  • Signage will be placed throughout facilities encouraging social distancing and mask-wearing.
  • Hand sanitizing stations and wipes will be placed throughout the facility.
  • Any high touch areas will be frequently cleaned before, during, and after events.
  • Campus staff and administration will be on-site to ensure safety measures are followed.
Complete game preview will be released tomorrow afternoon.
