Indianapolis, IN—The NCAA has announced their second week of NCAA Division II Baseball rankings. This year instead of ranking the teams, they put out a under consideration list. Mercyhurst found their name on that list week. The Lakers are one of five PSAC teams to be on the list, the other teams are Cal, Millersville, Seton Hill, and West Chester.  The non-PSAC teams listed are Charleston (WV) and West Virginia State.

The Lakers are currently riding a six-game winning streak after defeating Cal yesterday in the PSAC Quarterfinals. In their last regular season series, Mercyhurst swept Clarion and outscored them 42-15 over four games to clinch the second seed in the PSAC West playoffs. The Lakers will now take on Seton Hill in the PSAC Semifinal with the best of three series starting on Sunday at noon. On Sunday the two teams will play two nine innings games, if necessary, the teams will play on Monday in a single nine inning game with the winner advancing to the PSAC Final.
