Erie, PA—The Mercyhurst Women's Water Polo team opened their three-game weekend with a 15-7 loss to Bucknell.

How it Happened

Mercyhurst was down 6-0 after the first period of play. Mercyhurst started to claw their way back in the second period and were able to put three on the board. The Lakers received a goal from Cassie Anderson and two Sakura Gavin in the second period to get on the board. At the half the Lakers were trailing by a score of 11-3.

Sara Marin, Hannah Enquist, Rachel Morris, and Anderson were each able to find the back of the net in the last two periods. Madison Hoefakker was able to make nine saves in net for the Lakers.

The Lakers will face both Gannon and Saint Francis (PA) on Saturday to close out their weekend.
