Erie, PA—Coming off a weekend in which they went 4-1 against Salem and D'Youville, the Mercyhurst Baseball team has entered the top 25 of the NCBWA National Poll, the Lakers are currently ranked 23rd. Mercyhurst entered last season being ranked 9th in the nation following their College World Series appearance. The Lakers enter their first weekend of PSAC play with a record of 9-3.
Mercyhurst fell to Salem on Friday to open their five games this past weekend. On Saturday, the Lakers were able to beat Salem twice by scores of 4-2 and 8-3. On Sunday, Mercyhurst hosted D'Youville for a doubleheader, the Lakers beat the Saints 12-2 in the first game and scored a season high 19 runs in the second game of the day to win 19-2.
