Erie, PA—After opening their season on the road the Lakers will finally be able to compete in their home pool as they will host Washington and Jefferson University along with Salem University on Saturday with games starting at 11:30 AM and 7:00 PM.
Laker Outlook
The Lakers traveled to Morgantown, West Virginia last weekend where they faced McKendree University. Mercyhurst scored a season high 11 goals but ultimately fell by a score of 17-11. Both Derek Kagan and Mathieu Davis record hat-tricks in the loss. Michael Gutman, Luke Tanner, and Teagan Thomas each scored once while Joel Parnell scored two goals in the contest. Nash Greeven has started all three games this season.
Mercyhurst will celebrate their lone senior Dylan Shaffer on Saturday, Shaffer was able to score six goals last season while playing 25 games as a junior. He came to Mercyhurst after playing at Saddleback College where he scored 46 goals in his two seasons.
Scouting Washington and Jefferson
The Presidents opened their season last weekend as they faced both McKendree and Mount Saint Mary's (Md.) in Morgantown, West Virginia. They fell by a combined score of 41-16, they fell by scores of 24-7 to McKendree and 17-10 to Mount Saint Mary's.
Scouting Salem
Salem opened their season on January 23rd in Morgantown when they played Gannon and fell by a score of 21-11. Salem also faced Mount Saint Mary's on the 23rd and won by a score of 26-13. Salem has not played since the 23rd and have had their last seven matches canceled.
