The Mercyhurst women's water polo team is set to host the Laker Invitational on Feb. 15-16. The Lakers will play Siena, Bucknell, La Salle and Virginia Military Institute. Other teams that will be in the tournament include: Gannon, McKendree and Salem. The Invitiational will take place at the Haggerty Family Events Center.
 
The Lakers will play Siena on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. before they take on Bucknell at 4:30 p.m. On Sunday they will play La Salle at 10:30 a.m. and VMI at 3:30 p.m.
 
Mercyhurst opened up its season last weekend at the Bucknell Invitational and came away with a 1-3 record. The Lakers had two close losses to Gannon and LIU before picking up their first win of the season 13-12 over La Salle. They then lost to twentieth ranked Wagner.
 
Cassie Anderson is leading the roster with seven goals and 10 points. She was named the WWPA Player of the Week. Maddie Nye is next with nine points and is leading with four assists. Lindsey Mizrahi has six points and Mason Feldstein has five points.
