LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst men's water polo team fell 12-8 to La Salle and 13-1 to Bucknell during day one of the Bucknell Invitational on Saturday.
 
The Lakers are back in action Sunday at 8:00 a.m. against Harvard and 6:00 p.m. against John Hopkins.
 
La Salle 12, Mercyhurst 8
Alex Cappuccio scored three goals and Michael Gutman had two goals. Mathieu Davis and Ryan Witoslawski each had one goal and one assist and Jonathan Merkley also had one goal.
 
Paul Goddard tallied three assists while Derek Kagen and Teagan Thomas had one assist each.
 
Jacob Tanner made six saves in net and grabbed three steals.
 
For La Salle, Cole Strohson led the way with five goals. Tyler Williams and Luke Waechter scored two goals each while Derek DeFusco, Ash Lyne and Derek Allen tallied one goal each.
 
Cameron Schiable made 10 saves in net.
 
Bucknell 13, Mercyhurst 1
Dylan Shaffer scored the Lakers lone goal.
 
In net, Nash Greeven made 21 saves and had two steals.
 
For Bucknell, Rade Joksimovic and Andu Vlasceanu had three goals each, Logan Schofield scored two goals and single goals were credited to Jack Lewis, Cooper Dolan, Cullen Jacuzzi, Colby Paine and Will Gildea.
 
In net, Adrien Touzot made seven saves.
