GENEVA, Ohio – The Mercyhurst women's water polo team fell 14-13 to Cal State Monterey Bay during the Western Water Polo Association Championship Preliminary Round on Friday.

Maddie Nye scored six goals and added two assists for the Lakers. Lindsey Mizrahi scored three goals while Michaela Hershey had two goals. Sarah Hershey and Jennifer Moshinsky each scored one goal and one assist while Rachel Morris had added four assists and Rachel Byrnes had one assist.

Michaela Hershey had three steals while Sara Marin, Byrnes and Moshinsky had one steal each.

Sarah O'Keefe made seven saves in net and had two steals.

For Cal State Monterey Bay, Marisa Lovos led the way with five goals and three assists. Morgan Tucker recorded six goals, Olivia Centis had two goals and Kaitlin Rooney tallied one goal.

Rooney tallied five steals while Centis and Lovos added three steals each. Olivia Woolery picked up two steals and single steals were recorded by Sarah Smith and Tucker.

Shelby Stephens made two saves in net and had one steal.

The Lakers are back in action on April 27 at 9:00 a.m. Their opponent is TBD
