ERIE, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst women's tennis team closed its PSAC regular-season schedule with a 6-1 win over Clarion on Wednesday at Penn State Behrend.

DOUBLES

• Playing down one player, the Lakers forfeitted one doubles match, but won both matches on the courts.
• Kayla Frost and Sangeeta Roopan got the Lakers on the board with a 6-0 victory over Alivia Arnold and Vinisha Reddy at No. 1.
• Athina Tsagkaraki and Naomi Jahr clinched the doubles point with their 6-2 win at No. 2 against Michelle Petrilla and Katie Benson.

SINGLES

• Hannah Wenzel claimed the first singles win for the Lakers at No. 5 as she defeated Hailey Germanoski, 6-2, 6-0.
• Roopan followed with a straight-set victory against Reddy, 6-0, 6-0, to push the MU lead to 3-0.
• Frost, who was celebrated as the lone senior on Senior Day, clinched the team win by taking a 6-3, 6-1, decision over Arnold in the No. 1 match.
• Jahr tacked on a point with her win at No. 4 versus Benson, 6-0, 6-0.
• Tsagkaraki finished the match with a 6-1, 6-0, win against Petrilla at No. 3.

NEXT UP

• The Lakers (13-7, 5-1) will wrap up their regular-season with a non-conference contest on Saturday at Bluefield State.
• Mercyhurst will host a PSAC Tournament first-round matchup on Tuesday when it hosts Indiana (Pa.). MU is the two-seed out of the West Division while IUP is No. 3.
