ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's water polo team suffered a 22-10 loss to Bucknell and a 12-10 loss to Salem International on the first day of the Laker Invitational.

The Lakers are back in action Sunday when they take on Iona at 11:45 a.m. and Virginia Military at 3:30 p.m.

Bucknell 22, Mercyhurst 10
Maddie Nye and
Mason Feldstein both recorded three goals and one assist.
Sarah Hershey scored two goals and added one assist.
Mackenzie Ryburn tallied one goal and two assists while Rachel Brynes had one goal and one assist. Single assists were credited to
Rachel Morris,
Michaela Hershey and
Lindsey Mizrahi.

Sarah O'Keefe made one save in net and had one steal.
Madison Maes also had one steal for Mercyhurst.

For Bucknell, Ally Furano had six goals while Sarah Mooney and Emily Konishi both had four goals. Molly Teresi and Rachel Craig had two goals and single goals were given to Paige Furano, Eliza Romeyn, Larissa Hodzic and Nina Benson.

Georgia Lewis made 12 saves in net for Bucknell (7-2).

Salem 12, Mercyhurst 10
Nye recorded five goals and one assist while Hershey and Byrnes each had two goals. Morris picked up one goal and two assists while
Michaela Hershey added two assists.

O'Keefe made five saves in net for Mercyhurst (0-2).

Annefleur ten Bloemendal lead the way for Salem with four goals. Margherita Garibbo and Beatrice Popescu have three goals each while Maryanna Antoniou and Chole Woodbine tallied one goal apiece.

Philippa Piper made 12 saves in net for Salem (1-6).
