Men's Soccer Travels to Millersville For PSAC Semifinals

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst men's soccer team travels to Millersville for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Semifinal matchup on Nov. 15 at 3:00 p.m.

This is the Lakers first apperance in the PSAC Semifinals since 2016.

All-Time Series

Mercyhurst leads the all-time series 9-6 over Millersville. The Marauders won the last matchup 4-3 in 2018.

The last time the two teams met in the PSAC Tournament was the 2016 Semifinal game where Mercyhurst won 2-1.

Scouting Millersville

Millersville ended the season with a 11-5-2, 9-1-2 record. The Marauders were ranked first in the PSAC East.

Jake Gosselin is first on the roster with 11 goals and 28 points. Frank Astarita is next with 10 and Bob Hennessey has eight points.

In net, Darian McCauley has played in 15 games with a 0.702 save percentage and 10-3-2 record. Brady Hochman has appeared in three games with a 0.708 save percentage and 0-2-0 record.

A Look at the Lakers

Mercyhurst finished the regular season with a 9-5-2, 6-3-1 record. The Lakers were ranked second in the PSAC West and defeated Slippery Rock 3-0 in the Quarterfinal matchup.

Connor Wilkinson is on top of the Laker roster with 10 games, seven assists and 27 points. Henri Tophoven is next with 20 points and Mario Castel has 15 points.

Martin Jarc has played in 15 games with a 0.667 save percentage, 8-5-2 record and five shutouts. Alfredo Gallo has appeared in five games with a 0.900 save percentage and 2-0-1 record. He had one shutout on the season.

PSAC All-Conference Teams

For Mercyhurst, Alexander Paul, Hady Sarr, Connor Wilkinson and Mario Castel were named to the First-Team All-Conference while Ruben Calvo, Salvador Rang and Martin Jarc were named to the Second-Team All-Conference, 

For Millersville, Gosselin was named the Eastern Division Athlete of the Year, Steve Widdowson was named the Coach of the Year and five others were named to the First and Second Teams.
