WEST CHESTER, Pa. -- The 17th-ranked Mercyhurst women's lacrosse team will meet 13th-ranked East Stroudsburg for an NCAA Tournament first-round matchup on Friday at 5 p.m. at West Chester. The Lakers earned an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament.

Mercyhurst (13-6) entered the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Tournament as a three-seed and then advanced to its fifth consecutive conference tournament final. The Lakers fell to West Chester in the championship game, 17-12.
The Lakers opened PSAC Tournament play with a 16-7 home win against Bloomsburg before defeating ESU in the semifinals, 15-12. East Stroudsburg won the PSAC regular-season matchup against Mercyhurst, 19-14.
Mercyhurst boasts a roster that features three All-PSAC First Team players: senior midfielder
Kristin Anderson, senior attackwoman
Taylor Izzo and sophomore defender
Kira Kolb.
The Lakers and Warriors are no strangers, having met 19 different times. Mercyhurst leads the all-time series, 13-6.
The winner of Friday's matchup will meet fifth-ranked West Chester on Saturday at 5 p.m.
Tickets to the games this weekend are $7 for adults, $3 for students/senior citizens and $2 for children 3-12 years of age. Children under two years of age are admitted free.
