Moon Township, PA – Mercyhurst women's lacrosse fell to Robert Morris University this afternoon by a score of 17-6.
How it Happened
RMU got off to a quick start, netting the first three goals of the contest. The Lakers responded with a pair of goals from Whitley Easton and Emma Cimino, narrowing the deficit to 3-2 at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter saw RMU start to pull away, scoring four unanswered goals before Easton found the back of the net once more to make it 7-3. Robert Morris closed out the half strong, adding two more goals to take a 9-3 lead into the break.
Meghan Nasman opened the third quarter with a goal for the Lakers, and after an RMU response, Marlee Antinora added another to bring the score to 10-5. However, RMU regained control, scoring five straight to push their lead to 15-5 heading into the final frame. Nasman struck again in the fourth quarter with her second goal of the day, but it was the lone score for Mercyhurst in the final 15 minutes. RMU added two more goals to close out the game, handing the Lakers a 17-6 loss.
