NORTH CANTON, Ohio -- The Mercyhurst women's tennis team rallied for a 4-3 victory over non-conference opponent Walsh on Sunday.

The Lakers (2-0) trailed 3-1 before claiming three straight singles points, clinching the match on a win by Ivona Plecevic at No. 4 singles.

The host Cavaliers claimed the lone doubles point by winning all three doubles matches and then took their 3-1 lead by taking 2 of 3 points to start singles play.

Kayla Frost got Mercyhurst on the board with her 6-2, 7-5, win at No. 1 singles over Mercedes Fernandez.

The final three singles points were scored, in order, by Athina Tsagkaraki at No. 3, Naomi Jahr at No. 5 and then Plecevic at No. 4.

Tsagkaraki defeated Maria Kacalova, 6-4, 6-2, and Jahr earned her win over Katarina Razum, 7-5, 7-6 (4). That set the stage for Plecevic's three-set win against Clara Drasch, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.
