ERIE, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst men's water polo team will welcome seven other squads to the Cathedral Prep-Villa Events Center when it hosts the 2017 Laker Invitational on Sept. 8-10.

The Lakers will host fellow Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference members Gannon, Washington and Jefferson and Salem International and non-conference opponents Cerritos, Lindenwood, Penn State Behrend and Toronto.

Cerritos participates in the California Community College Athletic Association, Lindenwood is a member of the Collegiate Water Polo Association and Behrend plays in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. Toronto, the lone international squad, competes under the Ontario University Athletics banner.

A total of 17 games will be contested over three days, starting with an 8 p.m. matchup between Mercyhurst and Cerritos on Sept. 8.
