ROHNERT, Calif. – The Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) 2017 Women's Championship schedule to be hosted by Mercyhurst at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio has been released. The three-day tournament begins on Friday, April 28 and concludes with the championship game on Sunday, April 30.
Mercyhurst enters the tournament as the fifth seed and will play fourth-seeded California State Monterey Bay on Friday at 2:45 p.m. The winner will take on top-seeded UC San Diego on Saturday at 1:45 p.m.

Mercyhurst enters the tournament riding a three-game winning streak, with its most recent victory coming against sixth-seeded Gannon last Saturday.
Becky Insalaco leads the Lakers in scoring this season with 51 goals and 63 points and is the two-time defending WWPA Women's Player of the Week. She has scored 13 goals in the last three games. She also leads the Lakers in 2017 with 36 drawn exclusions and 35 steals.
Jena Clinch and
Mackenzie Ryburn have each netted 22 goals to tie for second most on the squad.
Cristal Maldonado has been in the center of the action this season with 30 drawn exclusions, 12 goals, and 15 steals.
Ever since taking over the net mid-season,
Jennifer Moshinsky has compiled a 5-6 record with a .399 save-percentage.
