Water Polo Wins Second Straight Game

ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's water polo team took down crosstown rival Penn State Behrend 12-7 on Thursday, April 13 at the Prep-Villa Event Center. It was the second time the Lakers beat the Lions this season.

Mercyhurst was once again led in scoring by Becky Insalaco. She netted four goals and added two assists and three steals. Jena Clinch and Mackenzie Ryburn each contributed two goals and two steals.

Even though Behrend managed a better team shooting percentage than Mercyhurst, the Lakers held the Lions to 13 less total shots in the game. Mercyhurst also scored on 4-of-7 power plays while holding Behrend to 2-of-4.

Mercyhurst takes on Gannon in its next game on Saturday, April 22 at the Prep-Villa Events Center at 3 p.m.
