NORTH EAST, Pa. - The Mercyhurst University women's water polo dropped its second consecutive match, in as many days, with an 11-8 setback to visiting Bucknell University on Sunday at the Mercyhurst North East Aquatic Center. The Lakers fell to 10-9 overall on the season and 2-5 against Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) teams.

Bucknell blanked the Lakers, 2-0, in the opening quarter and then stretched its lead to 5-2 at halftime. The Bison picked up three more goals in the third, outscoring the Lakers, 3-2, in the process. Mercyhurst edged Bucknell by a goal in the fourth quarter but it wasn't enough to overcome the Bison's four-goal cushion.

Freshman Kennedy Watson led the Lakers with three goals and an assist while junior Annie Blackman added two goals and a helper. Junior Meagan Marques, sophomore Jena Clinch, and freshman Erin Glass also scored for Mercyhurst. It was Glass' first collegiate goal.

Meanwhile, Clinch had a team-high four steals and added a drawn ejection.

For the second straight game, sophomore Rachel Stock and junior Jesse Sworden split time in goal. Stock allowed six goals and posted three saves while Sworden allowed the other five Bucknell tallies and had six stops. Both goalkeepers had a pair of steals in the loss.

Mercyhurst will play three matches in Bloomington, Indiana on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19 to conclude the regular season. The Lakers will compete against the University of Michigan and against Notre Dame College on Saturday and then will square off against the host team, Indiana University, on Sunday morning.
