LEWISBURG, PA – The men's water polo team entered day two of the CWPA Southern Championships, looking to rebound from a tough loss to Johns Hopkins University Friday night. They opened play with a 17 – 11 victory over Salem University. Freshman Matt Bachler led the scoring with 5 goals in the contest. Jack Howe, and Phillip Jenny each put another 4 on the score board, Dave Matulis also added 2 goals, while Jordan Hodur and Alec Diaz added one a piece.

            In the late game, Mercyhurst faced off against the Washington and Jefferson Presidents. The Lakers fell to a three-goal deficit in the first, but battled back to make it a one-goal game going into the half. Mercyhurst came out of the half firing, and tied the game up 5-5 at the end of the third. The teams battled throughout the fourth quarter, but the Presidents found the back of the net with just three seconds left on the clock, which gave them a 7 – 6 win over your Lakers. Freshman Otis Tyson and Senior Jack Howe paced the Lakers with two goals apiece. While Phillip Jenny and Joey Ryan each added a tally to the scoreboard. Junior Andrew Too – A – Foo had 8 saves and 4 steals in the contest.
