ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst women's water polo team won, 11-2, at Penn State Behrend Tuesday night. Cailin Jope scored three goals to lead the Lakers to their sixth win in seven tries this season.
 
Mercyhurst took a 4-0 lead after a quarter and then led, 8-0, at halftime. It was able to use its depth on the way to victory.
 
Jope finished with three goals and an assist. Allie Grimes recorded two goals and a helper. Jena Clinch added a goal and a pair of assists, while Aleeyse Utech, Ali Iaquinto, Annie Blackman, Katelyn Jeffrey, and Becky Insalaco each scored once. Jesse Sworden made five saves in goal, adding two assists and two steals. Rachel Stock tallied five saves and a steal in the second half.
 
The Lakers improved to 6-1 in 2014. They head to California for three games this weekend.
