LOS ANGELES, Calif.- The Mercyhurst men's water polo team won two games Saturday to wrap up action on their California trip. The Lakers beat Chaffey, 17-10, and Occidental, 18-6.

In the win over Occidental, the Lakers got out to a 4-0 lead after a quarter and then exploded for seven goals in the second period to take an 11-1 halftime advantage, rolling from there.
Alex Strong led with five goals and two assists, while
Samuel Lopez put up three goals and four helpers.
Jordan Hodur scored four goals and had an assist.
Joe Yamamoto added a goal and a helper and
Christian Dudley posted a pair of assists.
Kevin Doyle tallied 13 saves and three assists.

Mercyhurst improved to 8-8 this season. It will compete for the CWPA Division II Championship next weekend. The event will be held at Gannon University.
