Men's Water Polo Has Win Streak Snapped Saturday Night

The men's water polo team will play #20 Air Force Sunday.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- The Mercyhurst men's water polo team lost, 11-9, to California Baptist Saturday afternoon. Danilo Svorcan scored three goals to lead the Lakers in the match held at the Air Force Academy.

Cal Baptist took a 4-1 advantage after a period, but the Lakers rallied with three second-quarter goals, making it 5-4 at the half. The Lancers outscored Mercyhurst, 3-1, in the third frame, and a fourth-quarter Laker run was too late as Cal Baptist came away victorious.

Svorcan scored three times, while Isaac Ogloblin and Brett Luehmann each scored two goals. Dave Matulis and Garret Schoeman had a goal apiece.

The Lakers dropped to 7-2 with the defeat. They will play at #20 Air Force tomorrow. The contest is scheduled for a 1 p.m. Eastern start.
