Men's Water Polo Takes Two Home Games Saturday

NORTH EAST, Pa.- The Mercyhurst men's water polo team won twice Saturday at the North East Aquatic Center. The Lakers beat Gannon, 11-9, and then defeated Salem International, 16-11.
 
Against rival Gannon, the Lakers trailed after one period. Four second-quarter goals gave Mercyhurst a 6-3 halftime advantage. GU fought back, pulling within two through three frames. Mercyhurst closed the match with three goals in the fourth, claiming the victory. Danilo Svorcan led with three goals, while Garret Schoeman dished out four assists.
 
In the win over Salem, the Lakers took a 6-2 lead after one quarter and never looked back. Svorcan, Isaac Ogloblin, and Jordan Hodur each scored twice, while Ogloblin and Alex Strong had two assists apiece. Matt Cote recorded 10 saves in net.
 
The Lakers improved to 4-1 this season. They play at Penn State Behrend tomorrow. The CWPA match is set for a 12:30 p.m. start.
