#15 Women's Lacrosse to Host Two PSAC Matches This Weekend

ERIE, Pa.- The #15 Mercyhurst women's lacrosse team will host two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) games this weekend. The Lakers face Shippensburg on Friday, April 19, at 3 p.m. and then take on Millersville on Saturday, April 20, at 11 a.m. Both matches will be played at Tullio Field.

Mercyhurst is 10-3 overall and 5-2 in the PSAC. It sits in fourth place in the conference standings with four games left on the regular season schedule. The top six teams in the league at the end of the season advance to the PSAC Tournament, with the top two earning first-round byes. Seeds 3-4 host a first-round contest on April 30.
 
Kayla Minner leads the Lakers with 38 goals and 61 points. Rebecca Himes has 33 goals and 27 assists, while Anna LeGrett has 22 goals and 27 helpers. Alisha Catalino has posted 28 goals and 16 assists. 
 
Shippensburg is 4-9 overall and 2-5 in the PSAC. The Raiders have dropped four of their last five outings entering the weekend. They are currently one game out of sixth place and a potential conference tournament bid. Lindsey Kennedy is the team's top player, having recorded 24 goals and 24 assists in 2013. Her sister, Courtney Kennedy has added 22 goals this season.
 
Millersville has an 8-4 mark, along with a 3-4 conference record. It has won four in a row coming into this weekend. The Marauders play at Gannon on Friday before making the short trip to Mercyhurst. Millersville is even with Bloomsburg in the league standings, as the teams compete for the final PSAC Tournament spot. Brooke Fisher has put up 39 goals, while Hannah Vogel has 35 scores. Caitlin Shannon has tallied 31 goals this year.
 
Saturday's game against Millersville will mark senior day for three Lakers. Alisha Catalino, Kayla Minner, and Brittany Tucker will play their final regular season home matches at Mercyhurst. The trio will be recognized prior to the contest.
