PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Mercyhurst women's water polo team lost, 9-4, to Bucknell in the fifth-place game at the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Southern Championships Sunday. Allie Grimes scored three goals in the match held at Brown University.
 
The Bison led, 1-0, after a period and 4-1 at the break. Three fourth-quarter scores allowed Bucknell to clinch a fifth-place finish this weekend.
 
Grimes had a hat trick, while Lisett Calderon posted a goal and an assist. Aleeyse Utech and Annie Blackman had an assist apiece. Jesse Sworden made eight saves in net.
 
Mercyhurst next plays at the Division II Eastern Championship Saturday, April 20. The Lakers will face Notre Dame College and Gannon in a round-robin tournament hosted by Notre Dame.
