ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst University men's soccer team will host the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference for the second consecutive year at the Mercyhurst Soccer Field. The semifinals of the tournament will take place on Friday, November 8 at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The winner of both matches will meet for the championship game on Saturday, November 9 at 1:00 p.m.
The Lakers will compete at the 11:00 a.m. start time against West Chester University. The winner of that contest will meet against the winner of Slippery Rock and Millersville (played Friday at 2:00 p.m.) on Saturday. This is the second consecutive year for all four teams to make it to the PSAC Final Four. Last season, Mercyhurst faced Millersville in the first round while West Chester competed against Slippery Rock.

Mercyhurst competed against West Chester earlier this season in West Chester, Pa. with the Lakers coming on top 3-1. Freshman
Danny Deakin tallied two goals midway through the contest to capture the victory. Junior
Fernando Martinez scored the first goal of the season and added an assists in Deakin's game-winning goal. Freshman
Jack Watson also tallied two assists.
West Chester broke through goaltender Mikko Sarrkinen in the 72nd minute off of a header goal from Wyatt Dungan but it was not enough for the Golden Rams. West Chester finished their regular season with an overall record of 7-3-1 in the PSAC and captured their first post-season win as the fourth seed against Shippensburg in a 1-0 overtime victory. Overall the Golden Rams posted a record of 11-5-2.
In the last five contests, the Lakers are 2-2-1 against the Golden Rams. In those five contests, the Lakers are 0-2-1 at the Mercyhurst Soccer Field. Despite the .500 record, the Lakers have outscored the Golden Rams eight goals to six.
