WASHINGTON, D.C.- The Mercyhurst women's water polo team dropped two matches Saturday. The Lakers fell, 10-4, to Harvard and then lost, 13-7, at George Washington.
Against Harvard, the Lakers fell behind 4-0 after one quarter and could not climb out of the early hole.
Laura Perez,
Trish Armstrong,
Allie Grimes, and
Lisett Calderon each scored a goal in the loss. Perez, Calderon, and
Kimberly Goodhart each recorded an assist, while Grimes and Calderon each grabbed three steals.
In the GW match, Hurst trailed, 3-2, after one and 5-3 at halftime. The hosts used five third-period scores to pull away for the victory. Grimes had a hat trick and Perez scored twice. Armstrong and
Bella Hersh each added a goal.
Kylie McCormick dished out two assists, while Perez had eight drawn ejections.
Hope Rozelle made 10 saves in net.
Mercyhurst (7-14) plays at Penn State Behrend on Wednesday, April 4. The contest is set for a 7 p.m. start.
